The Dakhla Downwind Challenge 2019 is here! Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

DDC 2019:

The Dakhla Downwind Challenge 2019 invites 50 kite surfers to come and participate in this unique downwind adventure.

This is a very authentic, once-in-a lifetime kiteboarding journey from Dakhla to Lagouira, over 500 kms,taking you through the most incredible sceneries and landscapes of Southern Morocco.

Do you want to participate? This is a journey for the brave and adventurous, with many hours of kiting per day, taking you to exclusive locations, camping out in the desert each night, and living incredible moments with the rest of your team. Come and join us for the Dakhla Downwind Challenge 2019!

This event is organised by Soufiane Hamaini, and is hosted by Dakhla Spirit Hotel.

Event Schedule:

Tuesday, August 13

Participants arrival @ Dakhla airport and transfer to Dakhla Spirit where you will spend your first night.

Wednesday, August 14

Official opening ceremony @ Dakhla Spirit

Press conference.

Start of the DDC towards the White Dune.

First night in tents.

Thursday, August 15 – Sunday, August 18

Downwind stages between 80 and 100km per day each. Lodging camps are set up each night under the stars in different locations.

Monday, August 19

Last stage of the Dakhla Downwind Challenge as participants reach the finish line in Lagouira. Return journey to Dakhla by car. Lodging at Dakhla Spirit camp.

Tuesday, August 20

Participants’ departure from Dakhla.

The DDC is a challenging and yet incredibly rewarding experience! You need to be an experienced kiteboarder with lots of stamina in order to participate. Every you will have to manage about 100km by kite! Further you need to embrace the beauty of nature and sleeping in tents underneath a sky full of stars every night. But no worries – If you get tired you can also skip a stage, follow the team in our support cars, and join them again at the next stop.

The Dakhla Downwind Challenge is probably one of the biggest adventures of your life as a kitesurfer. You will enjoy every bit of it! So come and join us!

Total Price : 1390 euros per person.

The package includes as follows:

• Transfer from/to Dakhla Airport.
• 2 nights accommodation incl full board at Dakhla Spirit (
• 5 nights accommodation incl full board in tents along the course
• Kitesurf guiding throughout the 6 days of the downwind challenge including rescue boat and support cars.

Package does not include travel costs to/from Dakhla, personal insurance and extra drinks.
